![]() Alexander SchubertSenior Expert Computational Modeling, Novel Tools, Merck Electronics KGaA Alexander Schubert is a physicist with a PhD in theoretical chemistry from Würzburg University, Germany. Before joining Merck in 2021, he conducted advanced research in the field of quantum dynamics at universities in Germany, France, and the United States. His work explored the time-dependent behavior of electrons, atoms, molecules, and complexes across diverse timescales. At Merck, Alexander serves as a Senior Expert for Computational Modeling, conducting various R&D projects through physical and chemical simulations. His current focus involves modeling the behavior of charge carriers within OLED stacks to understand how molecular properties of the different components affect the overall performance of OLED devices. |

![]() Hyun-Jin YoonSenior Business Development Manager, Future Optical Technologies, Merck Hyun-Jin Yoon is a Business Development manager of Future Optical Technologies Korea. He gained a PhD in electronic engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea. Before joining Merck, he studied for MS degrees in organic chemistry from Seoul National University, Korea. At Merck, Hyun-Jin joined as a researcher in Liquid Crystal research and development in 2004. Over the years, he held various positions in R&D, including Global Platform Lead and R&D Manager for Liquid Crystals, Reactive Mesogen, Liquid Crystal Window, and Encapsulation materials, as well as serving as a scientist for RM in the UK. He has been leading Future Optical Technologies as a Business Development Manager in Korea since 2023. |

Sangyoon Han | Associate Professor, DGIST
Biography
![]() Sangyoon HanAssociate Professor, DGIST Professor Sangyoon Han is an Associate Professor at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST). His research focuses on silicon photonics and photonic hardware for artificial intelligence. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Han’s work explores the integration of silicon photonics with MEMS technology to realize ultra-low-power and highly scalable photonic integrated circuits. His research spans a broad range of applications, including optical neural networks, photonic AI processors, FMCW LiDAR systems, and quantum photonic circuits. Notably, his 2023 paper in Nature Photonics introduced a silicon photonic processor that achieved a million-fold reduction in standby power, earning significant recognition in the academic community. |
